Louisville Ranked Number 1 In Hoops
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The University of Miami men's basketball team hasn't cracked the Top 25 yet, but is receiving votes thanks to a 3-0 start in conference play. But the Canes have a long way to go before they get anywhere near the top of the polls.
The Louisville Cardinals ascended to the top spot in the rankings this week after Duke and Michigan both lost over the weekend. Following Lousville was the Indiana Hoosiers and Duke with the Kansas Jayhawks rounding out the top five.
Syracuse came in at number six in the country followed by Arizona, Gonzaga, Minnesota and the Florida Gators.
The Big Ten Conference placed six teams in the Top 25 while the Southeastern Conference struggled to keep two teams in the rankings after Missouri was thumped by unranked Ole Miss over the weekend. The Tigers dropped to 17th in the country with the road loss.
UM received nine votes in the AP poll and eight votes in the USA Today coaches poll.
