Longtime Miramar Police Chief Retires
MIRAMAR (CBSMiami) – After more than 30 years of serving the city of Miramar on its police force, Chief Keith Dunn has retired.
Assistant Chief Ray Black has been promoted to chief of police.
Dunn's career with the city's police force began in 1975 when he became one of the department's first cadets. He later became a certified police officer and through the years has served on road patrol; as a K-9 officer; in the Criminal Investigations Division; as an instructor; motorcycle officer; and was appointed as the agency's first school resource officer.
Dunn was promoted through the ranks and became Miramar's Chief of Police in 2009.
Raised in Miramar, Dunn holds Master degrees in human resources and business management from St. Thomas University. He also plays the bagpipes in the Police Pipe and Drum Corps of Florida band.
