LoMo Heads To Disabled List
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Marlins outfield will be without a key contributor for the near future, and possibly the rest of the season.
The Marlins announced Sunday outfielder Logan Morrison has been placed on the 15-day disabled list, according to Marlins.com. Morrison had been dealing with a right knee injury all season, but he finally needed to rest it.
By going on the disabled list now, Morrison is hoping to play once again this season. If he can rest and rehab the injury, there's a shot LoMo could return to the lineup at some point later in the season. If the rest and rehab doesn't prove to be enough, he may need another surgery on the knee.
During the offseason, Morrison had surgery on the same knee, but according to Marlins.com, Morrison believes he may have come back to fast from the offseason surgery.
If Morrison has to have surgery, it's possible he'll miss the rest of the season.
But, things are not all doom and gloom for the Marlins as All-Star right fielder Giancarlo Stanton is hoping to return in the coming days.
