Local Airports Strengthen Security Following Paris Attacks

MIAMI (CBSMiami) — With the Paris attacks and the hacking of the U.S. Central Command's social media accounts, airports around the nation are strengthening their security.
However, travelers at Miami International Airport who spoke with CBS4's Oralia Ortega said they haven't noticed any drastic changes.
"I didn't see nothing. I think it's okay. I just think that it's very crowded and a lot of people coming here to Miami," said traveler Isabel Tittoto.

In order to keep the information out of the wrong hands, South Florida airport officials not commenting on the heightened security measures.
Federal authorities said they're taking these measures in light of recent international incidents.
"I don't think they want people to know because there's a lot of people out there. You saw what happened in France, it's a very dangerous situation," said one traveler.
Tittoto told CBS4 she isn't scared to travel following the attacks and is confident in airport security.
"No, no. I don't think so. I think they (airport security) are doing great," she said.
Still, U.S. airport security screeners increased the number of random searches of passengers and carry-on luggage last week.
The Department of Homeland Security has also asked the Transportation Security Administration to review whether more security measures are necessary at airports in the U.S. and overseas.
