Line Work May Cause Cloudy Water In Miami Lakes, Doral
DORAL (CBS4) – If you live or work in Miami Lakes or Doral and notice the water coming out of the tap is a little cloudy there is no reason to panic.
On Thursday, the county's Water & Sewer Department began installing new water valves on a 54 inch water main under Red Road between West 18th and 49th Streets in Hialeah.
The valves are necessary because a section of the water line will be relocated due to a Department of Transportation road repair project. The installation of these valves will allow WASD to redirect water flow throughout these construction projects without interrupting water service.
The county said the cloudy water is safe to drink or use for cooking so no 'boil water order' has been issued. However, a boil water order has been issued for parts of Hialeah after a contractor punctured the same water main on Red Road and West 60th Street in Hialeah. The cities of Miami Lakes and Doral are not affected by the boil water order.
Areas in Miami Lakes and Doral may also experience intermittent low pressure throughout the three-week project, so residents are asked to conserve the water especially during the high peak times of the evenings and early morning hours.
