Leuer's Double-Double Leads Grizzlies Past Heat

MEMPHIS, TN (AP) — Jon Leuer scored a season-high 20 points and matched his career best with 12 rebounds to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a 103-87 victory over the Miami Heat on Sunday.

Mike Conley added 18 points for Memphis, connecting on all eight of his shots, while Zach Randolph and Courtney Lee finished with 17 points apiece. Tony Allen had 14 points, shooting 6 of 8, as Memphis made 59 percent and snapped a two-game losing streak.

The Grizzlies were 8 of 13 from 3-point range.

Dwyane Wade scored 25 points in Miami's fourth straight loss. Josh McRoberts added 14 points, Luol Deng finished with 13, and Chris Bosh and Mario Chalmers added 12 apiece.

Miami shot 49 percent for the game, but was 5 of 16 from outside the arc.

Memphis starters Allen, Lee and Conley were a combined 21 of 25, including Conley and Lee hitting all five shots from outside the arc.

Consecutive baskets by Wade to open the fourth quarter pulled the Heat within 82-79, but Memphis answered with eight straight points to take its lead back to double digits. The Grizzlies would eventually extend the margin to 17, and the Heat never got the deficit under double digits the rest of the way.

Both teams shot well in the first half, maintaining a pace above 50 percent. While Memphis built the lead to 10 at one point, the Heat were able to cut into the advantage with a 12-4 rally.

Memphis closed the half on a 9-2 run for a 55-48 lead behind 11 points each from Allen, Randolph and Leuer.

Wade had 15 points at the half as both teams protected the ball, Miami committing four turnovers to five for Memphis.

The Grizzlies extended the lead to 15 points in the third, but Miami continued to hang on, bringing the deficit back under double digits before Memphis carried an 82-75 advantage into the final period.

TIP-INS:

Heat: Deng recorded a steal in the first half, the 700th of his career. . Bosh missed his only shot outside the arc, ending a string of 10 straight games with a 3-pointer. . Entering the game, the Heat's last three opponents had averaged 54.9 percent shooting and 31 of 60 from 3-point range.

Grizzlies: Memphis C Marc Gasol drew a technical for the third consecutive game. Sunday's, however, was for delay of game. ... Gasol, Memphis' leading scorer, managed only two points on 1 of 6 shooting. . Leuer had 12 rebounds on Dec. 9, 2013, against Orlando.
