Legendary Announcer Pat Summerall Passes Away
DALLAS (CBSMiami) – Long-time CBS Sports broadcaster Pat Summerall has died at the age of 82, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Summerall was a fixture in the NFL broadcast booth from 1961 to 1993 with CBS. He would go on to work from 1994-2002 with Fox. Summerall was paired with legendary coach John Madden for years to form one of the best NFL broadcasting duos ever.
The Dallas Morning News reported Summerall worked 16 Super Bowls while on network television and broadcasted eight alongside Madden with the final Super Bowl coming in February 2002.
The Morning News said Summerall lived in Southlake, Texas with his second wife Cheri.
