LeBron Named Eastern Conference Player of the Week
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – After the week Miami Heat superstar forward LeBron James had, being named the Player of the Week seemed to be a slam dunk...and it was.
The NBA has announced James as the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the games played Monday, February 4, through Sunday, February 10.
This marks James' fourth Player of the Week honor this season and 41st in his career, the most ever earned in NBA history.
James led his teammates in points in all four games that week, averaging 31.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.25 steals and 1.00 blocks. There's no wonder he has been Player of the Week 15 times since he brought his talents to South Beach.
King James has set the bar even higher after he scored at least 30 points while shooting at least 60 percent from the field in five consecutive games, becoming only the third player in NBA history to do that.
James started off his week with nothing but net, putting up a game-high of 31 points while shooting a single-game career-best 92.9 percent (13-of-14) in a 99-94 win vs. Charlotte on February 4th.
He then made history once more, becoming the fastest player to hit 5,000 points as a member of the Heat against Houston on February 6.
Despite sitting out the fourth quarter in a 22-point, 111-89, win vs. the Los Angeles Clippers on February 8, he scored a game-high 30 points, six assists, five rebounds and two blocks.
James then shot 81.8 percent (9-of-11) from the field and 80 percent (4-of-5) from three-point range, which made him second best to himself after shooting 92.9 percent against Charlotte days earlier.
