LeBron James Re-Signs With Cavs For 2-Years, $47 Million

CLEVELAND (CBSMiami) — Former Miami Heat superstar LeBron James is keeping his talents in Cleveland, for at least another year.
According to CBS Sports, James has agreed to a two-year, $47 million contract with the Cavaliers for next season.
The deal includes a player option for 2016-17, meaning he can opt out after the upcoming season and become an unrestricted free agent once again.
James will make $23 million this season and if he doesn't opt out, $24 million the following year.
The 30-year-old had previously said that he was waiting until the Cavaliers came to terms on a new deal with free-agent big man Tristan Thompson.
Thompson has yet to sign a new contract.
James has said that he wants to finish his career in Cleveland and by signing short-term deals, he can gauge how much money to accept based on the teams needs elsewhere.
In his first year back with Cleveland, James led the Cavs to the NBA Finals where they lost in six games to the Golden State Warriors.
