MIAMI (CBSMiami) – He did all he could but LeBron James' shorthanded team couldn't overcome the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.
Now, the aftermath.
While the Warriors celebrated, LeBron hung his head.
He became the first player in basketball history to lead the finals in all three major statistical categories, points, rebounds and assists, but lost the series.
After the Warriors clinched the title by winning Game 6 in Cleveland, James was dejected.
Steph Curry was the league MVP in the regular season, but surprise…Andre Iguodala won the Finals MVP award.
As for James, he was missing the second and third best players on his team. Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving were both injured.

The losses, all of them, hurt.
And maybe it was the heat of the moment but James spoke some surprising words after the loss as he was clearly emotionally down.
Before the game, Dwyane Wade created a buzz while guest hosting on the game telecast.
He referred to playing for the Heat in the past tense.
Wade can opt out of his contract, which has one year left, on July 1st.
He and the Heat are reportedly apart on a longer term deal.
