TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/NSF) — The Florida House and Senate combined to pass 232 bills during the shortened regular legislative session, according to statistics released Friday by the House.
In all, 155 House bills and 77 Senate bills passed both chambers. Most bills await action by Gov. Rick Scott.
The House adjourned Tuesday, three days before the scheduled end of the legislative session, amid a standoff with the Senate about budget and health-care issues.
The Senate finished taking up bills Wednesday.
The House, which has faced criticism for the early adjournment, has defended its productivity. The statistics released Friday indicate the House spent 66 hours in session over 21 days, while the Senate spent 46 hours in session over 12 days.
