LAUDERHILL (CBSMiami) – Residents of a Lauderhill neighborhood are struggling to understand after three of their own were found dead in their home.
A 911 call came in Monday just after 2 p.m. after someone found the bodies of homeowner Dwight Brown, his son Denzel and the elder brown's girlfriend Lisa Foreman.
Word of their deaths brought dozens of heartbroken family members and friends to the home at 3650 Northwest 3rd Street.
Among the mourners was Denzel Brown's girlfriend Cylita Grace. Brown was just 21 years old.
"It's really bad what happened but it's really hard for everybody. It hasn't really sunk in. Every time my phone rings, I am thinking it's him because it's always him," said Grace.
There is shock at the Broward County Courthouse where victim Lisa Foreman worked as a clerk for 28 years.
Attorney Gustavo Frances has known her for a decade.
"She was a great clerk. She always liked to help people," said Frances. "She always had a minute to stop to talk to somebody."
Friends said the family never had any outward problems.
Next door neighbor Tangela Brown, her son crying uncontrollably over the loss of his friend, said she was stunned when she heard the news.
"They (police) questioned us because we are right next door. My son was the last to see him yesterday at about 9 - 10. After that he got the phone call that he had been shot," said Brown.
Neighbors said they can't make sense of what could have possibly happened.
"That guy was the sweetest guy you ever want to meet. His son called me mom, always give me hug, a great kid," said Brown.
Neighbors said the father and son liked to barbecue for the neighborhood, they loved to fish and opened their home to the neighborhood kids.
