Lane Closures On Palmetto, Don Shula Expressways To Halt Traffic
MIAMI (CBS4)- Drivers taking the Palmetto and Don Shula expressways this weekend should be prepared for detours in Southwest Miami-Dade County due to lane closures while work is done.
According to the Florida Department of Transportation, the closures will affect the northbound lanes on the Shula. On the Shula, the closure is scheduled to start at 10 p.m. on Saturday and last until 6 a.m. Sunday morning. Drivers will be detoured off at Kendall Drive and directed east until they reach the northbound Palmetto.
Starting at 6 a.m. on Sunday morning, one northbound lane will be closed on the Shula and one northbound lane will be closed on the Palmetto. Those closures will last until 10 p.m. Sunday
At 10 p.m., all northbound lanes on the Shula will be closed again until 5:30 a.m. Monday. Drivers again will be detoured off at Kendall Drive.
From midnight Sunday until 4 a.m. on Monday, all northbound lanes will be closed on the Palmetto between Miller Drive and Bird Road. During the closure, drivers will be detoured off at Miller and head north along Southwest 72nd Avenue until Bird Road, where they can get back on the Palmetto.
