Knicks Without Anthony Against Heat
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The horrid season the New York Knicks have put together will get tougher Friday night when they walk into the AmericanAirlines Arena to face the Miami Heat.
Knicks head coach Mike D'Antoni announced Friday morning superstar forward Carmelo Anthony would not be playing against the Heat.
Anthony had been leading the Knicks both in scoring and minutes played. For the season, Anthony is averaging 23.6 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 turnovers per game.
On the flip side, the Miami Heat may have the services of Dwyane Wade again after the guard has missed more than a week while rehabbing from a sprained ankle and a mid-foot injury.
The Heat has been able to put together a solid streak without Wade in the lineup thanks to the play of LeBron James and Chris Bosh.
LeBron is averaging 29 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals per game on the season. Bosh is averaging 22 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and one steal per game this year.
Bosh played exceptionally well in the Heat's last few games. Against the Pistons, Bosh went for 27 points and hit on 12 of 15 shots in the game.
Against Cleveland, Bosh went off for 35 points and was 14-14 from the free throw line in the game.
The Heat's game against the Knicks is set for an 8:00 p.m. tipoff on SunSports and ESPN.
