Knicks Preparing To Sign Tyson Chandler
NEW YORK (CBSMiami.com) – The Miami Heat's Big Three may be about to get some large company in the NBA's Eastern Conference.
According to multiple reports, the New York Knicks will complete some sort of deal with free agent center Tyson Chandler.
The deal could be a sign-and-trade or the Knicks could be preparing to amnesty guard Chauncey Billups to make room to sign Chandler outright.
Clearing out Billups' $14.2 million contract would give the Knicks more than enough room to bring Chandler into the fray in New York.

But, bringing in Chandler for a big contract would almost preclude them from signing point guard Chris Paul, unless he's willing to play for much less than he could make on the open market.
For the Heat, it puts extra pressure on Pat Riley to have at least a serviceable center on the roster to do battle with Orlando's Dwight Howard and possibly the Knicks' Chandler.
The Heat has little to no flexibility now that they are going to sign forward Shane Battier.
The Heat's best hope is that either Eddy Curry is actually dedicated and in game shape, or that the team can complete some sort of deal to bring in a decent big man.
