Key West Woman Arrested After Misusing 911 And Fleeing From Police For Over 50 Miles

KEY WEST (CBSMiami) – A woman was arrested over the weekend after fleeing from officers in Key West.
51-year old Jolynn Schneider is facing charges of fleeing and eluding police, reckless driving and aggravated assault on law enforcement officers.
Schneider called police at 10:26 on Friday night to report a fire at Choice Storage in Key West.
Police and fire personnel arrived to find no fire, but instead Schneider sitting inside her vehicle, locked inside the gate of the storage facility.
After opening the gate, authorities were told by Schneider that she misused 911 because she was upset about being locked inside the gate.
While speaking with Schneider and asking for her identification, the gate automatically closed again.
Schneider refused to hand over her ID, instead climbing back into her vehicle and fleeing the scene, crashing through the closed gate and nearly hitting firefighters who had to run to avoid being struck.
Deputies persued Schneider until losing sight of her around mile marker 21.
Her vehicle was then spotted again by mile marker 59 at approximately 12:20 a.m.
Schneider was tracked at speeds up to 85 miles per hour and occasionally drove in the center turn lane while continuing to flee from officers.
Stinger spikes were deployed at mile marker 75 and the two front tires of Schneider's vehicle were punctured.
Schneider refused to get out of the locked vehicle so deputies had to break a window to remove her.
She was taken into custody without further incident.
