Key Evidence OK'd In Casey Anthony Trial
ORLANDO (CBS4/AP) - In a key ruling for prosecutors, an Orlando judge ruled that a carpet sample that came from a car trunk can be used in the trial of a Florida Casey Anthony, charged with killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.
Circuit Judge Belvin Perry ruled against a defense motion to exclude any mention of a stain in the car trunk during Anthony's murder trial next month.
Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee. She has pleaded not guilty and says a babysitter kidnapped Caylee.
The defense had asked that a carpet sample from the trunk not be allowed to be introduced into the trial. The carpet sample had high levels of chloroform.
