Kennedy: "Whiteside Loves Miami And Wants To Stay"
Alex Kennedy from Basketball Insiders.com joined the Big O Show on 560 WQAM to discuss the Miami Heat, the NBA, and specifically Hassan Whiteside and what the Heat will do with him in the offseason.
On Whiteside: "I think at the end of the day, Whiteside is important [in Miami], but it's a strange dynamic. And I think it's something other teams are going to bring up in Free Agency. We saw with DeAndre Jordan last year. Teams told him; 'look, you're not finishing games. You're going to be more involved in offense here. You're going to be the man."
"From what I heard, Whiteside loves Miami and wants to stay."
"If say a guy like Kevin Durant wants to come to Miami, they're going to have to decide – do we want to keep Whiteside, or do we use our cap space on Durant [or someone else]."
"I doubt there is a scenario where they lose out on Whiteside and lose out on a big name player. I think it's going to come down to a choice for [Pat] Riley."
