Kendrick Perkins Takes Issue With LeBron's Tweet
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder are the consensus best two teams in the NBA. But a monster dunk and a tweet may have put some gasoline on a simmering fire between the two teams.
Around a week ago, Thunder power forward Kendrick Perkins was posterized by the Los Angeles Clippers' Blake Griffin on a huge dunk. It was ESPN SportsCenter's top play for days and fans everywhere were commenting on just how strong and good Griffin was on the dunk.
Heat star LeBron James tweeted out that Griffin's move was, "Dunk of the year! @blakegriffin just dunked on Kendrick Perkins so hard!!! Wow! I guess I'm No.2 now. Move over #6."
LeBron's excitement over the dunk reflected that of most fans across basketball. But apparently, Perkins is a little sensitive about LeBron's tweeting that Kendrick just got dunked on.
"If you're an elite player, plays like that don't excite you," Perkins told Yahoo! Sports. "They are also not tweeting about themselves talking about going down to No.2. I just feel he (LeBron) is always looking for attention and he wants the world to like him."
Needless to say, on March 25 and April 4 when the Thunder play the Heat, it's probably safe to say that Perkins might throw out a couple of hard fouls when LeBron drives to the basket.
