Karl Disorganized, Tropical Storm Lisa Maintains Strength

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Losing its fight against the environmental elements, Tropical Depression Karl remains disorganized as it continues it northwestward trek.
At 11 a.m. the center of Karl was about 365 miles northeast of the Leeward Islands.
Karl's maximum sustained winds were 35 mph as it moved to the west-northwest near 9 mph.
A turn toward the northwest with an increase in forward speed is expected by this evening, and that motion should continue through early Friday.
Little change in strength is forecast during the next day or so, but some strengthening is expected on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Lisa is just chugging along to the northwest over the eastern tropical Atlantic.
At 11 a.m. the center of the storm was about 580 miles west-northwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.
The storm had maximum sustained winds of 50 mph as it moved to the northwest at 8 mph.
Some strengthening is forecast during the next 24 hours, with steady weakening expected to begin by Thursday.
There are no watches or warnings in effect for either storm.
