MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine made campaign history in Miami.
At the Pneuma Church on Sunday afternoon, Kaine became the first candidate to deliver a speech entirely in Spanish, according to the Clinton campaign. It came during a Spanish-language church service.
"Buenos días a todos," Kaine greeted the crowd before introducing himself and talking about his time spent in Honduras as a Catholic missionary.
He discussed his running mate, Hillary Clinton, speaking briefly about her faith as a Methodist and how they're both working to make a difference in people's lives. He also urged everyone to get out and vote.
"Here in Florida, as you know, registration goes up through the end of the day, Tuesday," reminded Kaine. "This church has really promoted people voting and participating."
Later, he paid a visit to TooJay's Gourmet Deli in Plantation for lunch, visiting with voters. His stops on Sunday wrapped up the final weekend before Florida's new voter registration deadline on October 18th, which was extended due to Hurricane Matthew.
