Jury Not Yet Seated In Gus Boulis Murder Trial
FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami/AP) – Jury seats are still empty in the of two men accused in mob-related killing of the founder of Miami Subs and casino ship operator Konstantinos "Gus" Boulis.
Boulis was gunned down in his car on a Fort Lauderdale street. According to witnesses, he was slain amid a power struggle over SunCruz Casinos, which he had sold a year earlier.
Prospective jurors have been questioned over the past week. Defense attorneys and prosecutors hope to settle early next week on 12 jurors plus alternates to hear evidence in the 2001 killing. On trial are 75-year-old Anthony "Big Tony" Moscatiello and 56-year-old Anthony "Little Tony" Ferrari. They could get the death penalty if convicted.
One witness claims a hit man hired by Moscatiello killed Boulis.
