All Clear At Joint Base Andrews After Lockdown

MARYLAND (CBSMiami) -- Andrews Air Force Base, also known as Joint Base Andrews, home base to Air Force One, was placed on lockdown Thursday following a report of an active shooter.
Around 10:30 a.m., base officials gave the all-clear with the exception of Malcolm Grow medical facility - where the shooter had been reported.
Earlier, the confusion over the report led base officials to press those inside to be cautious.
Around 9 a.m., base officials tweeted asking personnel to take shelter after the report came in of an active shooter during a shooting drill.
A couple of minutes later, base officials tweeted more information on the matter again asking personnel to remain cautious.
Base officials said first responders were at the scene securing the location as part of procedures the base follows when investigating an active shooter report.
Vice President Joe Biden's travel plans to Ohio had been delayed due to the lockdown. President Barack Obama had arrived at Andrews Air Force base after visiting Ottawa, Canada.
