Joining Cavs, Staying With Heat Just Two Of Dwyane Wade's Options

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The free agency drama surrounding Dwyane Wade continued on Tuesday.

Wade has been vacationing in Spain with wife Gabrielle Union and fellow NBA superstars LeBron James and Chris Paul but is expected to return to the states on Tuesday.

On Monday the Heat offered Wade a two-year contract worth $40 million that includes a second-year player option that would allow him to become a free agent again following next season.

Reports have emerged that suggest Wade is looking for a bit more money and a longer deal, along the lines of two or three years with an annual salary of $25 million.

There is also talk that Wade may be considering a reunion with LeBron, but this time in Cleveland.

However, if that's the case then Wade would have to take significantly less money.  Currently the Cavs can only offer the midlevel exception worth $3.48 million.

Cleveland would have to make a couple moves in order to free up more money for Wade.

The Cavs did stir up some interesting discussions on Tuesday when the team's official Twitter account followed Wade and Union's accounts.

One big issue for Wade remaining with the Heat is that the two sides are not currently on good terms.

Wade feels as though Miami put him on the back burner while pursuing a new contract with Hassan Whiteside and then going after Kevin Durant.

There have been reports that Wade has cancelled meetings with teams following Durant choosing to sign with Golden State, one such team being the Milwaukee Bucks.

Other teams that have expressed interest are the Chicago Bulls and Denver Nuggets.

According to sources who spoke with ESPN's Marc Stein, the Nuggets have offered Wade a two-year deal north of $50 million.

Remember, Wade is from Chicago and went to school at Marquette which is in Milwaukee.

It's likely that Wade will take at least a couple days after returning from his vacation to make a decision.
