Jewish Holocaust Survivors To Ask Obama For Help Friday
MIAMI BEACH (CBS4) – When President Barack Obama visits Miami Beach Friday for a democratic fundraiser, he will be greeted by a group of protestors asking for his help.
These are no ordinary protestors, but are the aging survivors of Nazi Germany's Holocaust.
Their agenda is to ask for the right to sue in United States courts the European insurance companies who hold pre-World War II policies on Jewish victims of the Holocaust.
As members of the Holocaust Survivors' Foundation USA they are asking both Obama and Sen. Bill Nelson to stand with them in their quest for their rightful slice of the $20 billion that has never been paid to Jewish policy holders.
Only about 3 percent of the policies have ever been paid, according to the group's attorney Sam Dubbin.
