Jets' Ryan Hopes For Apology From Bush
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – New York Jets coach Rex Ryan apologized for his comments about Reggie Bush before the last game against the Miami Dolphins, but now Ryan wants Bush to apologize for his comments about injured New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis.
The back and forth started when Ryan said the Jets were going to put "hot sauce" on Bush before the first game between the two teams this season. Bush injured his left knee in the game as did Revis, who tore his anterior cruciate ligament.
Jets linebacker Calvin Pace also said after the game the Jets plans for Bush was to "put him on out," but later apologized for the comments and said there was no bounty on Bush in the game.
Bush would later say that Revis' season-ending knee injury was a case of "what goes around comes around." That prompted Ryan to seek an apology from Bush.
"I apologized for my comment," Ryan said. "I expect him to do the same. I never said we were trying to injure Reggie Bush, that's not even close. I'm sorry, but he's a player that's going to warrant a lot of attention and that's what I mean by my comments."
Ryan said Bush doesn't have to say anything to him or reach out to Revis, but hopes he will.
