Jets' Nelson Hosting Fla. Foster Kid Who Pled For Family
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (CBSMiami/AP) — New York Jets wide receiver David Nelson will host a 15-year-old boy who plead for a family at a St. Petersburg church earlier this year.
Davion Only, a 15-year-old boy who was born in prison and raised in foster care, will spend the weekend in New York as a guest of Nelson. Only and a friend will tour Manhattan, including trips to Rockefeller Center, FAO Schwartz and Central Park, and will meet with Nelson and other players Sunday before the Jets' game against the Cleveland Browns at MetLife Stadium.
Only stood in front of a church congregation in St. Petersburg, Fla., in October saying, "I'll take anyone" to adopt him. Nelson, whose nonprofit organization I'mME aids orphaned children, says he needed to do something once he heard Only's story.
