Jets Continue Talk Of Targeting Bush
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The verbal jabs from the New York Jets on Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush continued to ratchet up Wednesday as several Jets said Bush will remember their name.
"We want to knock him out, but we're out to do it legally," Jets linebacker Aaaron Maybin told ESPNNewYork.com.
Things started to get heated in the first game between the Jets and Fins this year when Jets head coach Rex Ryan said the team would put some Hot Sauce on Bush during the game. Bush was injured in the game and couldn't finish.
The Jets also lost their best player during the game, cornerback Darrelle Revis, to a season-ending knee injury. That prompted Bush to say "what goes around comes around," after the game.
Ryan apologized and has asked for Bush to apologize for his post-game comments. But Jets players, besides Maybin don't care if Bush apologizes or not, they're just out to make him pay.
"Every time he sees me, he will remember that hit," Jets safety LaRon Landry told ESPNNewYork. "If I'm in the box or I'm going downhill, he'll remember that hit. If I get penalized, I'm not going to stop head-hunting. I'm not going to stop the way I play."
Landry's comments about head-hunting come very close to being a direct threat to Bush and could result in the league office issuing a warning to Landry and other Jets players.
Bush said he's not concerned about the comments and that he is ready for the Jets game on Sunday.
