MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- As the race for president tightens, some candidates are pulling out their big guns. Literally.
On Tuesday, Jeb Bush felt the patriotic urge to tweet out a picture of his .45-caliber handgun, complete with his name engraved on it. He included the caption, "America."

The post comes amid the South Carolina primary and the weapon was a gift from a gun manufacturer in the state, according to the New York Post.
Immediately, the image spread across Twitter and the internet, mocking the former Florida governor.

The attempt at pro-gun community support is the latest in a serious effort to ramp up his campaign. Last week, he called on his brother and former president George W. Bush to join in on the trail and even got help from his mother, Barbara Bush, as well.
Bush has a long way to go to catch up the GOP leaders.
After Saturday night's Republican debate, CBS News interviewed debate watchers who favored Bush with just 5 percent of the vote, over who came out on top.
Marco Rubio, at 32 percent, won the debate, according to viewers. Donald Trump came in second with 24 percent, followed by John Kasich with 19 percent.
The National Rifle Association has given Bush an A+ rating with the organization.
