Jazz Takes Over Miami Gardens
MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) – The smooth sounds and rhythms of jazz are taking over Miami Gardens on St. Patrick's Day weekend.
The seventh annual Jazz in the Gardens festival will bring together R&B, soul and jazz artists together including Patti Labelle, Mary J. Blige and Kenny G.
These artists, along with others, will be performing their hits at Sun Life Stadium where over 40,000 guests are expected to attend.
Along with the music, festivalgoers will be able to try multicultural foods including soul food, Caribbean, Latin and Chinese food and shop for arts and crafts or festival souvenirs at the open air market.
As part of the Jazz in the Gardens festival, the Women's Impact Conference and Luncheon, aimed at women empowerment, was held Friday at the Shula's Hotel & Golf Club in Miami Lakes.
The luncheon was hosted by CBS4 News Jawan Strader and included panelists such as Hill Harper of CSI New York, former Miami mayor Manny Diaz, and the founder of the Honey Shine Mentoring Program for girls Tracy Wilson-Mourning.
Attendees of the luncheon participated in different discussions involving finances, independence, and success.
