Jay Ajayi's Breakout Season Has Been Full Of Highlight Runs

Last spring and summer Miami Dolphins rookie running back Jay Ajayi was considered someone who could end up being the steal of the 2015 NFL Draft.
Fast forward a year later and Ajayi was an unproven commodity who had not been used much during his first dozen games in the NFL.
Despite injury concerns, Ajayi was a beast in college for Boise State but he tumbled in the draft and was the 14th running back selected when Miami took him in the fifth round.
Due to an injury suffered during the final preseason game last season, Ajayi didn't make his rookie debut until almost exactly a year ago on November 8th 2015 against the Buffalo Bills.
He ran for 41 yards on just five carries in that game and was averaging 8.1 yards per run on his first 11 carries in the NFL, but Ajayi fell victim to the inconsistencies of the Dolphins running game under former head coach Joe Philbin.
New coach Adam Gase doesn't have that problem. Once he handed the reins of the run game to Ajayi last month, the second-year back has been nearly unstoppable. Take a look at the numbers:
Weeks 2-5: 31 carries for 117 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Weeks 6-9 (including Week 8 BYE): 77 carries for 529 yards and 4 touchdowns.
To save you from doing the math, Ajayi has ran for 646 yards and six touchdowns while averaging 6.0 yards per carry.
It seems like safe bet that Ajayi is going to rush for his first 1,000 season as he's just 354 yards away with eight games still to be played.
The question to ask now would be just how high is the ceiling on this British-born budding superstar?
