It's Election Day In Palmetto Bay - Again
Election Day is over in South Florida except for Palmetto Bay where residents are going to the polls once again Tuesday for a runoff election for mayor and a council member.
The village's Charter calls for runoff elections when no candidate gets at least 50-percent in a race.
For mayor, voters are choosing between former Village Council member Shelley Stanczyk and retired business executive Peter England.
The District 1 council seat choices are Patrick Fiore, a manager for the Florida Department of Children and Families, and Bev Gerald, a retired office manager. All nine original polling locations will be open to residents from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The newly chosen candidates will be sworn in at the regular council meeting on Thursday Nov. 18.
