Irene Causing Flight Cancellations At MIA
MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – As Hurricane Irene continues to devastate parts of the Caribbean, travelers are feeling the impact to a small degree at South Florida airports.
Miami International Airport reported that as of 10 a.m., there were 13 arrival and three departure cancellations due to Hurricane Irene.
The cancellations are to/from: San Juan, Pureto Rico; Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; St. Maarten, Virgin Islands; St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; Santiago Dominican Republic; St. Croix, Virgin Islands, and Punta Cuna, Dominican Republic.
However, according to Fort Lauderdale International Airport spokesman Gregory Myers, there are no cancellations at FLL due to Hurricane Irene.
Travelers should check with their airlines before heading to the airport to make sure their scheduled flights are still traveling.
