One Dead In SW Miami-Dade Police-Involved Shooting
SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade police are investigating a police involved shooting in Southwest Miami-Dade that left one man dead early Saturday morning.
According to investigators, a man was spotted driving erratically around 10:40 p.m. Friday. When an officer tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver in the green Mitsubishi Mirage refused and almost struck the officer then took off.
Police immediately followed the car but the suspect got away. Several hours later, the same vehicle was spotted at SW 248th Street and 128th Avenue. Once again, he was spotted driving erratically and just like the first time, he refused to be pulled over.
Police say when the driver attempted to hit several police officers with his car, officers opened fire on him. He was killed on the scene.
One officer suffered minor injuries and was treated on the scene and released.
There were no other passengers in the vehicle.
