Interior Secretary Salazar To Tour Everglades
BOYNTON BEACH (CBSMiami/AP) – The U.S. Secretary of the Interior will get a first hand look at the Everglades restoration efforts.
Secretary Ken Salazar will take an airboat ride at Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge outside Boynton Beach on Wednesday morning, then meet with those involved in the restoration efforts.
He's following the lead of another cabinet secretary who visited Florida last week with news of additional funding for Everglades projects.
Salazar's office says he'll see first-hand how the ecosystem will benefit from a newly approved agreement between the state and federal governments to improve water quality in the Everglades.
