Inside An ICE Special Response Team Training Session
MIAMI (CBS4) - If you're a criminal in Miami-Dade County, special agents in Homeland Security's Special Response Team may greet you with a bang on the door and a flash grenade in your home.
The agents gave CBS4's Vanessa Borge a glimpse into how SRT trains for these situations.
These men serve criminal warrants, deal with drug dealers and human traffickers.
"This team consists of guys who are in shape, good at shooting and have good tactical mind set," special agent Erick Hernandez said.
But before you can call yourself part of SRT you need to complete an obstacle course in less than 3 minutes and 30 seconds, rope climb, wall jump, and pull ups included.
Agents wear 50 pound gear and serve criminal, high risk warrants three to four times a month.
"These guys walk through a door and these guys don't know what they are finding," ICE spokesperson Nestor Yglesias said.
