Insect Expert Testifies In Casey Anthony Trial
ORLANDO (CBS4) -- A forensic entomologist testifying in the trial of a Florida woman accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter says he found insects related to decomposition in the trunk of Casey Anthony's car.
Dr. Neal Haskell testified Saturday the evidence was consistent with a body being in the trunk of the vehicle for a short period of time and then removed. Prosecutors believe the toddler's body was kept in the car before being left in a wooded area near Casey Anthony's home.
Anthony has been charged with first-degree murder in her daughter's death. If convicted she could face death.
Prosecutors believe she suffocated Caylee Anthony with duct tape. The defense contends the girl died in her grandparents' swimming pool.
