Ingrid Moving Slowly Over Mexico As Tropical Depression
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Tropical Storm Ingrid was downgraded to a depression Monday as it moved over northeastern Mexico and is still dropping heavy rain across the region.
Once a Category 1 hurricane, the system weakened to a tropical storm as it made landfall near La Pesca, Mexico around 8 a.m. Monday.
At 11 p.m., the center of the storm was about 10 miles west of Ciudad Victoria.
The system, which had maximum sustained winds of 30 mph, was moving west at 5 mph.
As the depression continues to move inland, the storm is forecast to dissipate Tuesday.
