MIAMI (CBSMiami) – There's a cool way to get into the holiday spirit this season.
You can ice skate in Downtown Miami.
Better yet, the good time on the ice will be for a good cause.
Santa came early this year and he got a front row seat to see all the ice skaters at Miami On Ice in Downtown Miami.
It's at an ice rink in the middle of sunny South Florida.
It was a family affair for our very own anchor Rick Folbaum, his wife Kelsey and their five children.
"How often do you get to ice skate in South Florida," asked Folbaum. "We've got real ice!"
Rick emceed the CBS4 sponsored event, which included an afternoon of skating of course.
There was also singing and musical performances for South Floridians to get a small taste of winter.
"We have the best of two worlds here," said Alexandra Arango, who was there with her family. "We have the summer and then we can have fun with the family here ice skating."
Miami on Ice is a month long fundraiser that benefits Neighbors 4 Neighbors, CBS4's community outreach organization.
"This is about Neighbors 4 Neighbors which is an organization which is associated with channel four and it's a way to get people in the community that need help paired up with those in the community that have the ability to help them," said Folbaum.
Miami On Ice will specifically help the Adopt A Family For The Holidays program at CBS4.
Sales from tickets will go to families in need this holiday season.
Miami On Ice is open Monday through Sunday until January 8th. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for children.
