CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami) – The Miami Hurricanes are off to one of the best starts in their history.
The Canes have won each of their first five games, two of which came against ranked opponents, and are now ranked No. 15 in the AP Top 25 Poll.
On Wednesday the school announced that its basketball team has reached another milestone, one that has never happened before.
For the first time in Miami Athletics history, the Hurricanes basketball season at the Bank United Center has completely sold out all of its season tickets.
It's the first time in Miami Hurricanes history that any team has sold out their season.
"It's the greatest feeling for every coach and player to now be in a position that every one of our games is a sellout," head coach Jim Larrañaga said. "It's exciting, and a tremendous accomplishment."
Larranaga is coaching his fifth season with Miami and fans have more than doubled the total number of season tickets sold from his first season with the Canes.
In 2011-12 fans purchased 2,251 season tickets. When Miami won the ACC title in 2012-13 and reached the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Tournament, season tickets peaked at 3,674.
This season the school has sold 5,600 season tickets.
