Hurricane Michael Forecast To Take NW Turn
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Hurricane Michael is maintaining a large-sized eye as it continues to move slowly to the west.
At 5 p.m., the center of the storm was about 990 miles west-southwest of the Azores. Michael's maximum sustained winds were 90 mph with some higher gusts. The storm was moving to the west at 5 mph.
There are no watches or warnings posted for this storm.
Michael is forecast to take a northwest then north-northwest turn and increase in speed on Monday. On Tuesday it will take a turn to the north where it could weaken into a tropical storm.
