Hurricane Humberto Should Weaken Soon
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Hurricane Humberto, the first hurricane of the 2013 Atlantic hurricane season is expected to become a tropical storm, Friday.
At 5 p.m., the center of the system was about 595 miles northwest of the Cape Verde Islands.
Humberto's maximum sustained winds were 85 mph as moved to the north at 14 mph.
The National Hurricane Center forecasts Humberto will begin weakening and take a gradual turn to the northwest Thursday night.
The storm is then expected to turn to the west-northwest over the next couple of days.
Hurricane force winds extend outward up to 35 miles from the center and tropical storm force winds extend up to 175 miles.
There are no watches or warnings posted for this storm.
