Hurricane Arthur Passing By Nantucket Friday Night

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Hurricane Arthur was a category two hurricane when it hit North Carolina Thursday night but has since downgraded to a category one.

Since the hurricane hit, with winds at 100 mph, the storm has downgraded with winds at 75 mph.

All warnings in North Carolina were discontinued early Friday.

Arthur, as of the 11 p.m. advisory, is about 75 miles south-southeast of Chatham, Massachusetts and is moving northeast at 28 mph.

Environment Canada has since replaced all remaining tropical storm watches with a tropical storm warning.

All hurricane warnings have been discontinued.

The tropical storm warning for Nantucket, Cape Cod (from Provincetown to Woods Hole), Nova Scotia (including Cape Breton Island), Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick from the US/Canada border to Grand-Anse remains in effect.  Non-tropical high wind warnings have been issued for portions of eastern Maine.
