POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Authorities released a sketch of the man they say abducted and nearly raped a South Florida girl on her way to school.

The 11-year old girl is back home with family after the scary situation but her abductor remains on the loose prompting authorities to ask for the public's help in identifying him.

In a 9-1-1 call released Thursday, a teacher who saw her moments after the incident explained what she heard.

"One of students just reported that on her way to school, that a man pulled her inside of his car and tried to get her to suck his private parts," said the teacher.

Broward Sheriff's Office investigators said the girl was headed to Palmview Elementary School on East Copans Road around 7 a.m. Wednesday when the man pulled up in an older black 4-door sedan.

The girl said the man dragged her into the car and drove around for several minutes before parking the car in an alley between Northeast 3rd Avenue and Dixie Highway.

That's when, the girl said, he tried to force her to have sex with him.

Luckily, she was able to escape and run to her school to get help.

Fourth and fifth graders at Palmview Elementary said they had an assembly with the principal stressing safety.

"They said if you are going to school, you have to look if someone is following you," said a student.

"When you see someone slowing down, you should run away so they can't kidnap you," said another student.

Two brothers worried about their 11-year old sister walked her home on Thursday.

"This is elementary school.. If you are trying to kidnap a little kid, it's bad," said one of the brothers.

The victim's pastor also posted a message on Facebook in support saying in part, "Please keep the youth in prayer."

Authorities are asking anyone with information in the case to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
