House Fire Leads Police To Illegal Grow House
SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE (CBS4) --Miami-Dade police have arrested at least one person in connection with an illegal marijuana grow house in Southwest Miami-Dade.
Rodolfo Rivero, 41, was booked into Miami-Dade County Jail Friday afternoon and faces several charges including first-degree arson and third-degree grand theft.
According to Miami-Dade Police Det. Javier Baez, 21 marijuana plants were found inside a home, located at 4210 SW 107th Avenue. The plants have an approximate street value of $84,000.
The grow house was discovered after a fire broke out inside the home early Friday morning, possibly due to the extra electricity routed into the home for the hydroponic set-up used to grow the marijuana.
