Homeless Kids Have Wild Time At Zoo Miami
MIAMI (CBS4) – Lions and tigers and bears, oh my.
One hundred homeless children and their families spent a very special day – no, not in OZ but some place equally as magical and filled with wild creatures – Zoo Miami.
The families are part of the Community Partnership for Homeless and live in either the downtown shelter or Homestead shelters.
At the zoo, the families were treated to a narrated tram tour of the grounds and a guided walk through the Amazon & Beyond exhibit. They also had the opportunity to have family pictures taken at the Samburu Giraffe Feeding Station. Speaking of food, they all received a complimentary lunch.
Thursday's trip was made possible through a charitable gift from Bank of America.
