Hollywood School Evacuated Over 'Suspicious' Package
HOLLYWOOD (CBS4) - A Hollywood middle school was evacuated as a precaution Wednesday morning after someone spotted a 'suspicious' package in the parent drop off area.
Broward Schools spokeswoman Nadine Drew said the package, described as a taped up box, was spotted just after 9 a.m. in front of Attucks Middle School at 3500 North 22nd Avenue.
Police and fire rescue personnel evacuated the students to a safe distance as member of the bomb squad tried to determine if what was inside the box posed a risk.
School district spokeswoman Marsy Smith said the all clear was given after about an half an hour and the students were allowed to return to class.
So what was in the box?
A pair of sneakers.
