Hialeah Teach Accused Of Punching Teen Girl
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A Hialeah teacher was arrested after he allegedly had sex with a teenage girl and hit her in the face.
Manuel Cruz, who teaches at Hialeah Senior High, reportedly met the 17-year old girl December 9th, 2012 in his apartment complex at 1200 block of W 53rd Street.
A little more than a week later the two were drinking and smoking marijuana in Cruz's apartment when he asked her to have sex with him, according to his arrest affidavit. When she refused, Cruz reportedly punched her in the face which knocked her out.
During a police interview on December 20th, Cruz, 53, reportedly admitted that he had sex with the girl once. He confessed to hitting her, but said he had been drinking, according to the report.
Cruz has been charged with having sex with a minor and battery.
