Hialeah Man Struck, Killed By Dump Truck
DEERFIELD BEACH (CBSMiami) – A Hialeah man working on a road crew in Deerfield Beach was killed when a dump truck backed over him.
The accident happened Tuesday afternoon in the 1600 block of Hillsboro Boulevard.
Emis Mauricio Martin-Rojas, 43, was given the clear signal to back the truck up by a flag operator when he felt it hit something and stopped. The flag operator was running westbound guiding the truck as Martin-Rojas was trying to keep up when, according to witnesses, 53-year old Ricardo Corrales walked into the path of the truck and was struck.
He was taken to North Broward Medical Center where he was pronounced dead just after 1 p.m.
