Hialeah Man Accused In Sexual Battery Of Multiple Girls
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A Hialeah man is accused of sexually abusing nearly half a dozen girls over the last forty years and police fear there may be more victims out there.
Last month, Lee Andrew Williams was arrested and charged with several counts of sexual abuse of a seven-year old girl in Hialeah during the past several months.
"All the sudden other persons find out about this, other family members, relatives, and they come forward because of this little girl's bravery. Some of them are adults and start reporting crimes sexual battery crimes that he has committed since back in the 70s," said Hialeah Police Spokesman Carl Zogby.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Williams, 61, also abused a 12-year-old girl in 2011, according to police.
"So far, we've got five victims but apparently this was a pattern with him. He targeted small girls, so far usually five to ten years old, somehow related in family when they would come visit or something of that nature," said Zogby
Police say Williams is a Miami native who moved to Hialeah about 12 years ago. Hialeah detectives are concerned there may be other victims, throughout the years, who have not come forward. Although police say all the victims are somehow related to Williams, Zogby added, "Anybody could be at risk any child around him could be at risk."
Williams has been charged with multiple counts of lewd & lascivious molestation and sexual battery of a minor. He remains in jail without bond. No one answered the door at his Hialeah home.
